We’re orbiting around our star, which is orbiting the center of our galaxy, which is hurling through the infinite blackness. It’s correct if you go up far enough. Besides, orbiting is just falling toward the gravity source but always missing.

Calvin should use the binoculars his dad gave him and look at the night sky. He’d be amazed at how much more he could see.
