Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for July 23, 1988
Transcript:
Calvin: Gosh, I followed that lady halfway around the zoo, thinking she was my mom. Why don't mom's write their names on their calves so this kind of think wouldn't happen? I wonder where I am. And were's Hobbes? I thought he was right with me. Mom: Uh oh. Where's Calvin? Dad: Why do these little family trips always turn out this way? I'm going to spend more Saturdays at the office.

Oh, they don’t need to worry. It’s Calvin, after all

He did leave Hobbes to tell them where he was going! Sadly, Hobbes seems to be napping.
