Yep, Glenn Miller did look like Jimmy Stewart there … hence this (which I’m sure y’all knew about anyway.) ;-)

Gweedo, does it ever cease to amaze you how people are so dumb they say dribble when they mean drivel, hone in when they mean home in, and jive when they mean jibe? And that fragrance guy was a character in a nnovel I just reaad, called Christina Falls. And he was a real batard.

The novel is Christina Falls, not the evil cowboy type character. Paardon my misplaced modifier.

I must be missing something here on the Billie Holiday picture—- she was born in 1915, right? she must have retained her youth and prettiness right up until she died in 1959 because that photo shows a 1950’s Ford behind her.

It’s the smell of that sunblock he dowsed himself with this morning.

What is even more amazing than how much Glenn Miller resembled Jimmy Stewart, is how much Benny Goodman resembled Steve Allen as shown HERE.

P.S. In the interest of intellectual honesty and a complete and accurate historical record, Lorraine Glover was not simply Mrs. Donald Byrd. She was Mrs. Donaldson Toussaint L’Ouverture Byrd II. (I’m sorry, that name is just wicked cool. If I knew how to pronounce “Toussaint” or “L’Ouverture,” it would be right up there with molybdenum in my book.) I will stop now (shytimes2 has a very low risibility tickler threshhold, and if I don’t leave this alone NOW she’ll crawl through the interwebs and jerk a knot in my google).
