itś the landlords lawn—i just cut the stuff. i don’t care whatś growing in the yard. i’d just as soon salt it, and lay down green gravel but the management won’t let me. beats me why not.
Dandelions – food afoot! Snip the greens. Wash WELL. Use in a salad. Or fry 1 slice bacon crisp – remove from grease and crumble – set aside. Toss in washed dandelion greens and cook til wilted. Remove from heat and add bacon crumbles. Dandelion heads are good too. Snip them when they first open. Soak 1 hr in cold water to remove any unwanted protien (bugs). Dip in a light batter (I use a tempura batter) and fry in oil of choice til golden brown. Good way to make use of an otherwise unwanted pesky weed.
I think that’s actually kinda sweet, but Grandma may not think so. Nelson can see her for the caring person she is, not by the popular culture’s idea of beauty.

I’ve always thought they were pretty while they were yellow. But then, I also actively plant them because they attract bunnies.

Just make like they’re colored grass…then cut the grass and be glad you have a colorful lawn.
