We don’t always do weekend specific material for Saturday. Each day’s strip doesn’t need to correspond to the calendar day on which it appears. But this situation is both an old standby, and relatable for many readers.
Actually, John used to write lots of the talking computer gags in the years before I was on the strip. He only recently revisited the theme. Just a reminder that Jay can’t win.
“Holmes”?? Jay’s last name is Holmes? Or did the computer mis-spell the vernacular “Homes” as in “Homey” or “Home Boy”? But wait, if his computer can talk and respond, it shouldn’t have been a simple mis-spelling, should it? ;-)

Working Daze is my favorite comic, followed by Dilbert. Hmmm, must be something about flaky workplaces. I can definitely relate to that!
