Once again, it’s Broomie’s own d*rn fault. She planted the idea in Gaylord and he just followed through. Actually, the postal folks will let her out at tomorrow’s mail pickup, if she just comes up with a better story (e.g., “I dropped my purse/glove/gum/glasses/car keys accidentally and tried to retrieve it/them”).
On “The Abbott and Costello Show,” Lou once got his hand stuck in a mailbox; his solution was to stick a stamp on his forehead, so that it would be a federal offense for anyone to mess with him.
Heard a story on radio this morning about a guy in NYC who got stuck in a manhole trying to retrieve a wallet he’d dropped. Wonder what Broomie was after, really.
