I had a golden Lab with a pink nose. It used to get sunburned and we decided to try sunscreen on it. But Jake just licked it off every time we tried it. Strange….!
Destiny: In those days (I remember that far back), we were outside year ’round and could build up a tan before summer. Still, I could get second degree sunburn when I started taking my shirt off. Now, my skin is a mess, but so far, no cancer. At one of those free cancer screenings, the doctor called an intern in and gave her a tour of all my splotches and bumps.
@Ladyhawk: You’re right. My mom and my youngest brother couldn’t go outside without some kind of sun block, or they turned into lobsters. Ouch!!!!!!!!!

That’s what moms do…smother the kids (fur kids too, Rover!) with love and sunscreen.

No-one worried about sunburns back then. It was a standard part of childhood!
