Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for August 15, 1990
Transcript:
Mom: Sometimes I feel like our life has gotten too complicated...that we've accumulated more than we really need...that we've accepted too many demands... Dad: Well, Thoreau says, "simplify, simplify." Maybe we need to do that. Mom: But how? Calvin: I hate it when they look at me that way.

Every time I mentioned Calvin and Hobbes when I was a kid my parents would say that this was their favourite strip. I have such sarcastic parents.

Simplification means finding and embracing your true priorities. Which, ideally, should include children. Especially your own children.
