Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for September 09, 1990
Transcript:
Calvin: Uh oh. Here comes Susie. Try not to breathe in. Susie: Here, Calvin. Calvin: What's this? Susie: It's an invitation. Mr. Bun is hosting a milk and cookie party in ten minutes, and you and Hobbes are invited. Calvin: We decline! We wouldn't attend if you paid us! We've got better things to do than sit around with girls and dumb toy animals. Susie: Fine! Don't come! Who cares?! What a jerk...I went to all this trouble, too. Don't be disappointed, Mr. Bun. We can have a nice party all by ourselves. Phooey. Calvin: Ha! We showed her! All girls should be shipped to Pluto - that's what I say. Hobbes: I wonder what kind of cookies they were. Susie: You came! Calvin: We don't attend parties. We just crash 'em!

Calvin, can you just be nice for once? Susie is just trying to be friendly. And if you yell " MOMMMMMMMM!" in the middle of the night, she wouldn’t be there if the government listened to you and sent all the girls to Pluto.

It would’ve been cool if Mr. Bun were as real to Susie as Hobbes is to Calvin. But if he were, Susie wouldn’t look as lonely as she does in the bottom-left panel, and I think that’s how Watterson intended her to look.
