Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for March 29, 1994
Transcript:
Calvin: Greetings. I am Blor-utar from Zimtok-5. I have come to subjugate the human race. Do not resist. Why humans? Because, in addition to their value as slave labor, they are also delicious and nutritous! Ha ha ha! But first, for your Earth custom of "show and tell," I will exhibit some of our terrifying weaponry. Snekk blog u-lar mekhh! Gahghh! Rk! Miss Wormwood: All right, Calvin, that's quite enough. Kid: Miss Wormwood, shouldn't he be in some special school or something?

he probably should.

That’s the problem nowadays. If a kid keeps an active imagination he’s deemed abnormal and sent off elsewhere where he won’t get the same opportunities. Schools do their very best to crush imagination out of kids. Calvin is just over the top in the other direction.

Definitely my favorite weekday strip ever. So many wonderful elements: Calvin’s one-eyed grimace, the space suit details, AND the “terrifying weaponry” —a garage door opener? “…Delicious and nutritious! HA HA HA!” The name, “Blor Utar,” is perfect, too.
Calvin’s final balloon lets us know he’s been doing his entire show-and-tell in character. He’s the only one who knows what Blor Utar is saying, hence the great comment—is that Susie Derkins speaking?
The day that appeared, I celebrated by printing up some “Blor Utar—planetary subjugation specialist—5 year warranty” business cards.
And so SNEKK BLOG U-LAR MEKHH! And a happy GAHGHH! RK! to all.

The other students should be sent to special school who cannot even understand his deeply innovative nature

Calvin does not seem like the type of kid that would find much in a normal school environment.

I thought it was a special school. The subject matter these first graders cover is usually far above a standard first grade curriculum. The projects and assignments are upper elementary-jr high, for sure.
