Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for October 02, 1995
Transcript:
Calvin: Boy, I hate school assignments! Miss Wormwood is out to destroy my life! Hobbes: What do you have to do? Calvin: Make a leaf collection! What a dumb waste of time! Hobbes: How many leaves do you need? Calvin: 50! I gotta collect 50 leaves! And just when I thought of a loophole, the teacher said every leaf has to be a different kind. Hobbes: She's got your number.

That’s pretty hard (I think, where I live there are very little trees, maybe his area has a lot of different kinds).

Hrrmm… totaling all the different kinds of clover leaves, and all the ferns, bushes, trees… I could come up with 11… 14 if the teacher accepted poison sumac, ivy, and trumpet leaves.

50 kinds of leaves? I doubt my neighborhood has that many.
And, LieutenatCommanderData, I don’t think moss has leaves.

I don’t think I could get 50, and we have a lot of trees and plants around here.
