Transcript:
Alice: That cloud looks like a TV set. Beni: That one looks like a computer monitor. Alice: That one looks like a monkey with a banjo. Beni: Where? Alice: There. Oops, now his head is drifting away. Beni: I don't see - Alice: Now it's growing a new head - and the banjos turned into a club. Beni: Where? Where? Alice: It's got a dragon head! And tentacles! And look! Great big bat wings! Beni: I still don't - Alice: See? Flames billow from its jaws as it descends in awful majesty! Beni: NO! AAAGH! Alice: Now it looks like a guy eating soup. Beni: Oh, thank God.

The pink sky looks like something out of a Star Trek episode.
What clouds?

Can the thunder and lightning be far behind?

Beni is easily unnerved by violent cloud formations.

Alice’s imagination is more active than Beni’s, but he is impressed by her imagery—too impressed! But the darkness of panel 6 brightens in panel 7 as the cloud scuds away and Beni releases from fetal position. Now we can all relax. …Except about that pink sky….

But it needs to be pink. If the sky is a bright canary yellow, you forget every cloud you’ve ever seen.

One of the things I’ve always loved about Richard Thompson’s work is that he letters in upper and lower case. The Tin Tin books were lettered like that, but I don’t think they were hand lettered. I’ll have to find my old copies and check it out. BTW – the Tin Tin movie is still in the works … at least the last I heard it was. Does anyone know?

Yes, this is a lazy Sunday reprint. @Detourjones, Local Hero is my favorite movie! Thank you for bringing it up.
