I know an atheist who saw the face of Darwin on a piece of toast. The thing that gets me is how these people are absolutely certain that the figure they see is a specific person whose image was never recorded.
Jackson Pollack was a fraud. Art has a creative dimension. Picassoâs âGuernicaâ is ugly and indecipherable, but it is still a product of creativity and thus qualifies as art. Random paint drippings are the equivalent of radio static.
Picassoâs âGuernicaâ is one I do âgetâ deeply, and is fantastic. I donât want to argue, but it is an anti-war, or âhorrors of warâ painting, hence ugly â but powerful. But I generally agree that Pollack, Klee, et. al., âmodern artâ is generally a big inside joke on the public⊠you can almost hear the voices in the back room; distorted by wild laughter, âHey Guys! youâll never believe what I actually SOLD this afternoon!!â
