A guy who was studying wolves took a couple of days and endless cups of tea to mark a territory; the local alpha male wolf took a few minutes to mark every spot again himself.
I was just thinking, this doggy “writing on the wall” seems very similar to facebook and writing on the wall. People seem compelled to leave messages on each others “wall” and we read the messages with interest.
I think the dogs “read and understand” the messages left by other dogs who are “writing on the wall”.
