What makes it even more irritating is that it’s not particularly realistic in this day and age, with the economy the way it is and with the competition for appliances being so fierce.

I’ve purchased three major appliances in the past couple of years – from impersonal, national chains, no less – and they fell all over each other to undercut prices, provide free delivery and haul away, and so on…

Factory screw-ups do happen. About 20 years ago I bought a new refer from a department store. The next morning every thing in the freezer was starting to thaw. Results: The store service man came right out only to find the factory failed to charge the system with Freon.

Don’t fret so . . . just tell him you’re calling the nice lawyer at the television station that gets things done right for consumers. THAT’LL get his rear in gear! NObody likes bad publicity – especially in the current economy!
