The real Kool-Aid is thinking we can keep spending like we are. What does 114.5 trillion in unfunded liabilities really look like?Or even the 15 trillion or so we owe right now.See this link compiled from the US Treasury & USDebtClock.org for a dose of reality:http://www.wtfnoway.com/

The real Flovor-Aid is thinking we could invade two countries for no reason and no goals, keep the expense off the books, and think the economics of that would work out in any way. In 2000 we had a surplus. After 8 yrs of Republican rule, we have this mess. Obama could do a lot more to fix this, but it’s Republicans made this mess.

First he said allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire would not be a tax increase. After he lost the support of some tea partyers he changed his mind. Is that flip-flopping? Just like Boehner, say one thing then bow to the wishes of the tea party.

Let’s not lose sight of the goal: get ALL the wealth in the hands of the upper 1% oligarchy, and drag the middle-class into misery.

A little look at ALEC will reveal just how profoundly Norquist, the Kochs and their “investments” have worked- and largely succeeded, to destroy the government, and our way of life, to substitute a corporate monarchy. VALID and legitimate “capitalism” with rational restraints on theft and abuse is a component of a functional economy that can be “democratic”. The autocratic rule by corporations through dictatorship was defined by Benito Mussolini. That should provide a lesson for when corporations are allowed to replace “government”.

How does Grover Norquist an unelected person hold so much sway over the GOP? He makes them sign a no tax increase pledge or they’ll see the Teabaggers campaign against them? Anyone dumb enough to sign that pledge should remove themselves from office since they no longer serve the people

“The real Kool-Aid is thinking we can keep spending like we are. What does 114.5 trillion in unfunded liabilities really look like?”No the REAL Kool-Aid is the thinking we can keep cutting taxes and still be able to pay down that dept. Why is it when a Republican is President, the Republicans are perfectly happy borrowing more and more to spend spend spend on what THEY want? Why is it the ONLY time the Republicans make a big fuss about the debt is when a Democrat is in the White House?

You must find it difficult to believe that we have an intelligent, articulate president trying to run the country against an opposition party that hates who he is – imagine, a black man being president! Reality hurts

Norquist and Reagan are the sainted icons of the Republican Party, but unfortunately worshiped as false gods.

Again Danziger using a Lefty fiasco like the Johnstown Guyana horror of the ‘70s to smear those he disagrees with. That was a cult of San Francisco Socialists who committed mass suicide like lemmings once the money ran out. When Romney wins in 2012, I challenge the Obama-bots to recover their minds and move forward rather than do what Jim Jones’ followers did 40 years ago.

Ahab, I have never been smeared as the Great White Monster of Herman Melville’s sea saga, until now. Now Kraken, well, that’s a different nautical metaphor, and I’d rather not comment on that accusation.

Again, Ahab, you deserved it, as I was no more obscene than you were. It was a fair reaction, and frankly your response confirms that you refuse to accept the point in the first place. But, we can move on, shall we?

Next year, you are invited to find the solace of conciliation in Romney’s demonstrated pragmatism. Regardless of what you choose to call it.

Ahab, I find the NYT, which editorializes on nearly story it prints, to be vulgar and obscene. That was my main point, and I admit that I was very aggressive in expressing that. But, I still stand by my words. And yes, Romney is my champion. You’ll likely have 8 years to reconsider your opinion of him.

“Funny, {Romney} helps buy corporations. Sells them off, sending all the workers to unemployment except a few executives and that’s your champion!” “You never read anything even close to that grotesqueness from my posts you slimy worm, never. " Ahab, I just did. And your calling me a liar??

Well, at least your admitting that. And, since you brought it up, let’s not be anti-Semitic, shall we? That’s pretty much a felony offense here in NY state, even out here in the the great white north of W NY.

No, no, not even a Mormon, although they did start out right around here. Lutheran, if it matters. It’s my passion for my home (W NY), and what Down-stater politics have done to it, that fires me up and morphs my preferred civility into something much uglier. As for Mitt, his pragmatism is often confused with something much uglier too, as you just demonstrated. I’m sure it won’t be the last time Romney is accused of the latter. We clearly have a better understanding of each other’s passions, so lets move on with that understanding. God speed.
