dfunt, how about some outrage, or at least irritation, for all those for-profit colleges and their CEOs who are paid millions, and who 1) have no statistics on the number of graduates in a given major who get jobs in their field within six months of graduation, and 2) provide no information at all about what employment prospects are for a given major when a young person enrolls. You must be a Republican; they’re big on blaming the poor and unemployed for plights that the elephants caused.

Everyone should get a “Liberal Arts” degree for an Associates Degree, or even a Bachelor’s Degree to broaden his or her thinking and be able to think and learn how to think. Thinking is the most laser-like concentration of “working the mind” in problem-solving and social-skills adaptation—“learning to get along with others” and ‘walking a mile in another person’s moccasins", but for jobs-promotion and skills specialization, a more specialized other degrees are necessary like Master’s and Doctor’s degrees to show proficiency and management skills; also, another foreign language shows broadening of one’s mind to encomass less self-centeredness.
