It's just a way to celebrate the season" Frank says, "The strings of colored lights represent the feelings we have Christmas time" Brad says, "Oh. So what Christmas feeling is that string representing?" Frank says, "Extreme annoyance"

All the talk about saving the planet and turning out the lights-if people would just refrain from using xmas lights, imagine how much electricity could be saved.

I think it’s from some genius thinking it would be a good idea to put candles in trees. Then someone thought of using electric lights

I think the lights are symbolic of the bright star that led the wise men on the first Christmas.
