"LAST YEAR." "Ok, let's get this Christmas light thing organized once and for all!" "On all the boxes of end-to-end blinking lights, I'll write 'E-E-B.' The multicolor strands from the southeast side of the house will be marked 'S.E.MULT.' And all these strands that aren't working go in a box labeled 'N/W.'" "There! Next year, decorating will be a snap!" "THIS YEAR." "'N/W' must mean these go on the northwest side..." "What's 'E-E-B?' Extra External Bulbs? East End, Bedroom?" "Here's a big bunch of 'SEMULT,' whatever that is."

Why keep lights that don’t work? wouldn’t it be simpler to just throw those out and buy new light strings?
