Yeah, everyone will come to a screeching halt to avoid getting caught and cause anyone nearby to get rear ended. Less traffic light violations equals more rear end fender benders!!

If you go the speed limit (instead of the “tolerated” 5/10mph over), don’t text or talk on the cell, maybe you could focus beyond the tail lights in front of you and “anticipate” what’s going on and avoid rear-ending someone……and go around them at TWICE the speed like a REAL “why should I put my lights on in a fog” hillbilly. duh…so you DON’T get rear-ended.

#beach comber … this is NOT a democracy … you don’t get to vote for laws, you get to vote for lawmakers. Triple the fines … take away licenses …. if the probability of getting caught times the penalty for getting caught is severe enough, people will stop and the intersections will be safer.

They took a photo of your license plate and sent you a ticket, to pay the fine just send them a photo of your check.

Time for a little evolutionary adjustment, just eliminate ALL traffic control devices and the intelligent should survive.

My dad always goes the actually speed limit and stops when the light turns red, it’s the jerks who tail-gate that annoys him, and also the people who cut you off; that happen a lot when he was a truck driver and drove him up the wall.

In Lynnwood WA we have these camera’s in front of two schools. My daughter was driving the speed limit of 30 mph at 11am and received a $140.00 ticket. When I went to talk about it, I was told it’s a school zone and she was to go 20 mph when the light was flashing or children were present. It was summer break, no children are in the photo and the light was not flashing. This is the most expensive joke ever. I took it to the city council and we now have a law that in our area 1 hour prior to the start of school and 1/2 hour after school starts they can ticket someone. Same for the afternoon. But we still had to pay the fine. This is a money maker only. Because if it was for safety the camera’s would be in front of the schools where we have had deaths on the street. Good comic.

In San Diego, the initial red light cameras were operated solely by the manufacturer, with no oversight by the city. I got a ticket back then where the timing didn’t seem right (claimed the light was red for over 2.5 secs). The company was being paid per ticket, so naturally they maximized their profit. Later the tickets were ruled invalid, and the city changed the contract so that the city paid a flat rate and had oversight over the timing. I had already paid though, and couldn’t get my money back.
