    No, it’s not a made-up thing. There used to be a homework hotline when I was a kid. Three different 1-800 numbers, one each for science, math, and language arts. You’d be put right through to a teacher specializing in that class who’d help you with your problem. And it was all a free service provided by the teachers’ union. Shut down in the mid-90s because of cutbacks.

    They have that available in this area where I live (Chattanooga Tennessee) where kids can call in and get some help..

    Here in KS or parts of KS not sure if there is a homework hot line. My kids are done with public school. One went to college for a career that college failed to work with the ACE test.
