Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for September 01, 2011
August 31, 2011
September 02, 2011
Transcript:
Gene: I know what you're going to say, Dad! The place needs a lot!
Gene: It's going to take time! It's going to take money! It's going to take work!
Gene: Uh...I know what you're going to say, Dad!
Arlo: Son, this place could be a paradise!
Actually, @Fred Fred, Gene was quoting the Alfredo Linguini character from the movie “Ratatouille,” hence the quotes around the movie name when Arlo responds. “Ratatouille” is the movie that got Gene interested in the restaurant biz, per the 8/5/2009 strip.
… but it will take time, money, and work. Now, if Gene and Marylou want to put in the time and work, that’s great. but that place is gonna be a money pit as well. It needs everything. . On the other hand, if you can get it to where it’s fit to live in, you can spruce it up over time if the farm can make money.
