“Groans” I’d NEVER use a book to swat a bug, that’s why fly swatters were invented. Plus, it would’ve been easier to trap that spider under a cup, slip a paper under it and then take it outside where it belongs.

The only thing I smash, with whatever is handy, is those million leg bugs. My automatic response to them is quite devistating. The bug doesn’t fare well either.
