Never heard of the movie..after checking it out…the Joke make sence.
I wasn’t even there. That was another tall, dark, handsome man man you saw with tears in his baby blue eyes leaving the theater. Not me, I walked out of Old Yeller laughing.

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story from the early 1920’s.
The film version came many many many many years later… and has a very different plot, though Benjamin ages backward in both.
I just had to give Fitzgerald his due!
In fact you can read or download his anthology “Tales of the Jazz Age”, including this story, on Project Gutenberg, for free.
I’ve read the story, but cannot get through the movie.
