How not to do political commentary.
frumdebang about 13 years ago
I am simply saddened by how poor this strip is. The art, the political commentary, and the supposed punchline are all abysmal. C&C should abandon this guest artist thing and give us back our funny Sunday Baldo. Por favor, ’manos.

Horrible. This could get me away from this strip permanently.

I’d vote that the loose screw has to do with immigration, I have hundreds of DREAM Act students still waiting. Fix it already!

The worst thing is knowing that there are still poor “guest” strips for at least one more Sunday and maybe two before HHM is over. (They started running those strips on Baldo a few days before the official start, so they may continue a few days after.)

This strip could be filed under “how to anger the leftists.” As political commentary it is pretty tame, if a bit silly. Nothing wrong with “silly” in a comic strip.

I am taking this strip out of my collection and never reading it again. I hope it is taken off completely!

At the risk of pissing everybody off, Obama does have a screw loose, several in fact. And there’s no outstanding Republicans out there either, so I’d say this country is doomed!

In politics you pick the lesser of two evils…Compare Obama to the succesionist Perry and the many faces of Mitt Romney and the choice is clear.

It’s no wonder this has to be published as a “guest strip.” It’s AWFUL. Lousy art and lousy writing.

I love this choice for a guest artist. Aleloop is an extremely talented artist who, rightly, has won dozens of awards. His political commentary here could be far right or far left, they are both frustrated with The Presidents actions.

In my humble opinion, Baldo is starting to get a little lame from time to time, apart from these guest strips.

I’m with houself, this could get me to cancel this strip permanently. Cut the "guest nonsense, the poor art work and the lame, right leaning attempts at political commentary.

I don’t mind guest artists, but at least they could have picked one who actually knows how to draw! The average nine-year-old could do better than that.

This one has a mean content. Do you really think you would be Better off with any of the republican crazies? They are so racist and they think it’s their way or the highway. If they are wanting to go anywhere to change Obama, it’s much lower. He does need to grow some.

I’ve been reading w/ joy & fear comments about my comic strip. Joy it provoked so much dialogue. Fear that the Latin experience is still not understood. I grew up under a violent military dictatorship in Argentina where 30K of our friends, family & citizens were imprisoned, tortured & executed for using the word “might”. As in, “Is it possible that our leaders MIGHT have it wrong?” Notice the Chihuahuas do not accuse President Obama of having a screw loose. They merely ask the question we should all ask about our elected leaders. B/C it’s the question that keeps us safe. I thank God every day I live in a country where we enjoy the freedom to use the word “might” when considering our leaders. Sadly, millions of human beings living around the world today in oppressive societies where they don’t get to publish or even read comic strips like this. Thank you Carlos & Hector for helping millions of your readers appreciate how good we all have it here in The United States of America!

Agreed… I really don’t like most of these guest artists, nor the political commentary. :-s
