My avatar photo is Max. He’s from a Tennessee shelter and now lives in Massachusetts. He is the best dog….ever!!(All my other dogs were the best, too, and they all were shelter dogs.)

Yep, so many splendid animals await the chance to have a family adopt them and to give them a home filled with love.

Many shelters don’t/can’t give the guys months, I brought my little Katie home on the day she was due to be done in… she’d had two weeks. She’s the best dog ever, of course, along with her “sister” and “brother” and the foster kids..

There’s so much love and companionship to be found at a local shelter, it’s a shame people get so obsessed with pedigrees and consider pets to be akin to fine furniture rather than buddies

One friend has always gotten her best friends from the SPCA. Another visits the cat rescue place for her warm fuzzy friends. I worked on a co-worker for months, trying to get her to give her husband a gift certificiate for the SPCA. He wanted pure bred, went to a breeder. Despite the number of abandoned purebreds at the SPCA.

Wonderful toon and great message. (The two best today are this one and Red & Rover. YAY, fur-faced buddies!)

We had a rescue dog, lived a long happy life. Had a pure bread ( given to us by a friend) and she died of cancer at 18 months. Back to happy loving long lived mutts! Gotta love them dogs. our baby is now 11….
