You’d think that budget cutters would have a teleconference. Perhaps they all walked to the convention site.

Adult Education meeting where the powers that be decided that, ‘They don’t need no stinking building.’ .REAL WORLD is that Ron Paul wants to abolish the Dept of Education among other departments. Already our education system is not anywhere leading in any field of study..As Pogo said, “We have met the enemy and he is us”. And if we continue to ‘rob Peter to pay Paul’ (borrow {?} from Social Security and Medicare programs to fund pork barrel projects) then Pogo is vindicated..In 1996 when Bergstrom A.F.B. was being closed many of the buildings were torn down so the land could be GIVEN to the city of Austin, Texas. In the meantime, a lot of remodeling took place. The Base Exchange and the Commisary were the two most obvious examples. Both were remodeled to equal or surpass any top tier stores downtown. When asked why all these millions of dollars are being wasted like this when the base is to be handed to Austin in less than three months I was told every time, “The money was allocated… It had to be spent!” WHY! WHY! WHY!
