I thought they were A. B. Normal. Special effects in ‘Harry Potter’? No way!

What movies don’t have special effects?

OOh Leaky, and Grapfhics, too — that frog is what used used to scare me!

Joy is disappointed that only part of the movie was made with actual wizardry, I guess.

So Grog, I guess to some people, movie magic is reality.

It makes sense, cos most of what happens in the real world is just as incomprehensible to them.

Uh oh! They’ve been breaking the scary little points off the corners of the chair backs.

Only one left today that I can see.

Hope they’ve saved them. Burl needs an excuse to order some As Seen On TV glue (only $14.95 plus shipping.)

And what does that note say about Burl’s skivvies?

I have never watched a Harry Potter movie..nor do I care to do so.

Susan, I also wondered about the chair finials-usually most are there. Could you read Joy’s cup? The whole list is a little confusing today – is it Burl who needs the eye doctor?

That list isn’t all that confusing….one thing leads to another. I think Burl had a special effect in his sofa……

@Susan and vldazzle — I see two finials, one on Verla’s chair and one on Marlene’s. Joy’s chair doesn’t seem to have any finials at all that I can see.

Rooster Cogburn had normal effects. normal dynamite/gasoline, normal bullets (ouch) and normal bad acting. and that’s a movie! gotcha.

Is this panel purposely presented out of focus? For the last several days, I cannot see it clearly so don’t get to look for the hidden item.

Purple sky – you’re right, of course. I didn’t notice Marlene’s till after I posted. But they all used to have them.

GymShoe – I still think it’s part of a GoComics bandwidth austerity program, reducing pixels, therefore Kb per image.

We all need to write to them. I hope the artists themselves will complain.
