Sitting down to “help” Joy wash the car. And so very thoughtful, perceptive and helpful. Be careful with this driver!!

    Good morning to all.

Not in this neck of the woods. Kroger is Kroger and there’s no Safeway.

I wonder if that bumper sticker is also on the front of the car. It seems wasted on the rear end.

Actually, the term for his response is “The Army Game”. It means that the private will only do or say what the seargent asks or orders whether or not the private knows that is counter to his requirements. It’s a good way to lose a battle….

I worked at Kroger from ‘69 to’73. Believe it or not, I was paid $5.00 an hour. That was pretty good cheddar back then…..

In Southern California we have Safeway stores but they are called Vons or Pavillions.

I think Jewel and Dominick’s would be the main grocery chains in Crustwood. I haven’t seen a Kroger’s brand store in Illinois for decades (the one from my youth was a dump and bought out by National Tea). Safeway owns Dominick’s now—and not for the better.

Even though it’s nice fall weather this week, another day without Susan is another day without Sunshine—and a little short on bad puns, too.

Kroger here in AZ is “Fry’s”, but used to be called “Fred Meyer’s” and we do have Safeway + more different chains than I care to mention. I shop at Sprouts now that I want organic meats and mostly produce.

@VarnesThat WAS good cheddar! I worked in a home grown “Super Dollar” from ’68 to ’70. I got $1.60 per hour. I loved it when the ole ladies would give me a quarter tip! Score a Coke and a pack of chips!

I wouldn’t be talking to anyone with Ted Bundy as a vanity plate, and the only way a Kroger could become a Safeway would be that Kroger closed it and Safeway reopened it as part of their chain. Noone would tailgate in their own driveway in the front yard and I can’t read the top line of license after State.. and Burl’s shirt after Ruby Falls.. but I think Joy’s is Summer’s Eve Car Wash.

Seriously, the comic shrunk on Monday, September 19th. Go back and look at Friday the 17 to see the difference..I would like to make a formal complaint, but do not know how….. The size was perfect before and sucks now………...Let’s nominate Julie Larson to be our representative to convince GoComics to change it back….or else we storm their office….. Suggest we go storm in costume…..SusanShunshine can dress up as JOY (Need green blouse with orange flowers!) ChoirBoyFromHell as BURL…..Mike2 dress up as JERMarg as VERL A (Hit the resale shops to find those glasses)vldazzle as MA (It might take quite a while to get in character) leakysqueaky712 as either Dale or Marlene. (You pick one) Need volunteer for Patty….What do you all think…………..?
