June’s dad was unusual in 1913, to open an account for a 2 year old, who wouldn’t appreciate it for years to come… Not everyone set aside money for their kids back then. But they did raise them to leave home upon marriage and become self-sufficient. And then take in the oldsters when they could no longer work for their money, and keep them until their deaths.
