Bucky: So what batty powers does this "batman" have? Satchel: powers? Bucky: like, does he use echo-location to catch baddies in the dark? Satchel: Ha ha! No, he doesn't have that. Bucky: How does he navigate as he flies, then? Satchel: he can't fly! he's a dude! Bucky: Can't fly?! What's the point of of being a bat, then? Satchel: The bat thing is just an image, I think. Bucky: Image? Have you seen a bat? They're hideous. Was the naked mole rat mask already sold out or something?

In some incarnations, Batman flies with technology. But echolocation, or even just augmenting his senses for the nighttime, would help a lot.

actually, in the dark night he has something similar to echolocation, and he can glide.
