Late yesterday I weighed in on the selection of favorite Tarzan comic strip/book illustrator … I voted for Joe Kubert. I also said, however, that Brune Hogarth was the best at composing and rendering action scenes. As for Tarzan book cover illustrator .. I voted for Frank Frazetta. All just my opinion, of course.- One thing I’ve not read here is your opinion of the Disney animated version of Tarzan. So … did you like it? hate it?
Tarzan’s dealings w the villagers was brilliant. Using the supernatural as a cover for the theft and death. Otherwise the villagers would have torn the forest apart searching for person.
Good morning all:)Quartermain, i graduated high school in albany oregon. I believe that is around your area. The region is beautiful year round, but specially this season. And its people were friendly and intriguing. I think its all related to the climate there.
Katman – Yesterday you asked who the artist was who did the drawings used at the top of this page as part of GoComics’ lead-in to Tarzan. I think it was Bob Lubbers. To my eyes it sure looks like the work he did on Tarzan.
Disagree.Best Tarzan artists were: Hal Foster, Burne Hogarth, Joe Kubert!!!!!!!Best Tarzan movies were the ones with Johnny Weissmuller, Lex Barker and Gordon Scott as Tarzan—-except “Tarzan Goes to New York” which really stunk!!!!!!

You may remember Bob Lubbers as the artist who did Long Sam and, for awhile, Secret Agent X 9.

You are correct, that Lambert “Tarzan” movie is quite good and sticks to the original story most of the time.
