He’s one of the lucky ones. He’s still got his chair and TV. And the cave. Man, I just realised what’s so good about living on my own after my marriage. My stuff is all crap, but it’s my stuff in my place. And now I am about to get better stuff.

@Ottodesu: Amen, brother. My whole house is now my cave; with computers, a big recliner & TV in the living room, exercise equipment in the bedroom & whatever I want in the kitchen & garage. After 32 years of marriage, and the compromises that involved, I missed my wife very much when she died; but after the shock wore off I realized I am doing better than ever before! Marry again? Not in this lifetime!!!!

At least you all notices she let him keep an ugly recliner. I was very glad that was the furniture my X wanted from our house (he couldn’t take our double bed or any of the kids beds-or the TV). I would love one of those deluxe massage chairs, but would put in the bedroom (not any place visible to others)- I can’t afford the 1000s that they cost, so just use the one that my chiro has.
