Ya know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone living under a bridge here in USA. Granted, I’ve managed to avoid the larger metropolitan areas fairly successfully so I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, just that it is not as widespread as I’ve seen in some other countries.
I’ve been to third world countries where every bridge is house to someone – complete with salvaged furniture.
Did you even read my whole post, or just the first sentence followed by a knee-jerk response.
I said I avoid large metropolitan areas.
Frankly, the mid-sized cities are plenty for me and in rural areas it’s great fun to watch the different factions of greenies fighting over whether or not to remove hydroelectric dams.
In these areas the poor live in Gov’t subsidized apartments or trailers paid for out of their monthly stipend from Uncle Sam, not under bridges.
I guess they don’t have the same services available in those big cities.
That stat is alie. 1 i n6 Americans do NOT live in poverty. more than half of those 1 in 6, has an apartment, a car, multiple tvs dvds and game systems, their children go to school every day and they have health care.
.
That’s not poverty, that’s 1st world problems. For 75% of the planet, that’s living like royalty…

They are not suffering at all. People think that is suffering should go live in rural areas of Honduras, or India.

@White Wing
“And people still turn down a meal, if a religious service is attached to it!”
I thought charity was supposed to be free. What happened to help thy fellow man?
