Get Fuzzy by Darby Conley for September 25, 2011
Transcript:
Bucky: Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you doing?! Satchel: I'm painting, my brush fell under the ladder. Bucky: Well don't go crawling under it! Going under a ladder is bad luck! Satchel: Bad luck? Bucky: Like breaking a mirror or opening an umbrella indoors! I live with you! Don't turn me into some kind of cosmic collateral damage! Satchel: Oh, my, so we're dooming Mrs. Chu as she walks around downstairs! Bucky: Huh? Satchel: What happens when there's a ladder on top of a sky scrapper? Is everybody below it unlucky? That seems a tad unfair. Oh! What about that time Rob cracked his sunglasses?! They're not mirrors but they're mirror coated! Bucky: Well, in such a case, uhh... Satchel: And your black cat buddies have walked all over this place! What's the statue of limitations on path crossing?! Ok, no, I would classify this as a bit of bad karma for you.

I would say throwing paint on somebody 5 times your size is very bad karma indeed, Buck-o.
Good thing for you it’s Satchel, the gentle giant, who may only pound you half – way to a pulp for it.
Even luckier for you….. sigh…. he probably won’t even do that, in spite of the egging on from a few thousand readers.

Bucky, as someone who has observed cats mauled by large dogs I would like to suggest something to you. Shut up and hug satchel.

Myself and I have that conversation too, Richard.
It’s not like I ever fell off a 4 ft sidewalk, so why am I terrified 10 feet from a cliff?

Bucky is the definition of “bad luck”.

Add turning your back on a fat cat to the bad luck list.

Violet should have been a totally beneficial color for Satchel, being the culmination of the Chakra Poor Satchel. He needs some fine tuning. And not from Bucky’s tuna fish…….

But if I had no bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.

Sach, that is not karma, this would be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I spilled salt and black cats appeared in front of me and nothing ever happened. It’s all in the head.

Good questions Satch.

Bucky is earning bad karma points. Maybe in his next life he will come back as something less important. To a cat. That would human – with a cat like Bucky as a owner.
Some superstituions are based in fact. Walk under a ladder and the guy at the top of the ladder falls off. Bad for him. Opening the umbrella inside always knocks things over.
Give a shiny new penny with any sharp gift (knife, scissors, axe). That’s was originally to pay the doctor (blacksmith or barber) to tend to your wounds because you were careless.
and so on.

I don’t know, my black cat is pretty bad luck, sadly it’s all bad luck for himself.
