I hope Michael is not expecting an answer from Teddy.

Kids never change and neither do their delusions. And you can’t tell them. Nobody could tell us at their age, and they’ll bepulling their hair trying to tell their own kids someday. Who won’t listen either. Kids never change.

    9? My bedtime was always 7:30 til I hit 13. Then it was 8. I didn’t get a 9 o’clock bedtime til I was 15.

I didn’t get MY 9pm bedtime, until I was 14 years old. Before that, it was 8pm with a 7am wakeup.Kids that young REALLY need 11-12 hours of sleep.

If events of this strip happened nowadays, Michael would have a good argument for having his parents get him a cell phone. ;-)

My son is 6. His bedtime is 8pm (wakes at 7, about 40 minutes before his bus, so could not sleep later). He always stays up a bit reading, mostly because it’s almost impossible for me to complain about that! But he does OK.

He was telling me today about all his friends who can stay up till 9 or 10- I know he exaggerates, but I believe him also. He said one friend is allowed to stay up till 10 or 11 but falls asleep in class all the time.

My mother was a HUGE proponent of kids having a reasonable bed time and getting plenty of sleep (and plenty of reading in bed of course!), and I have turned out the same.

Not all kids. My brother and I went down at 8. he was always groggy and late (or almost late) for school. On the other hand, I was always awake and up at 5 am. I ended up getting a morning paper route because it was so bad. i was married before I ever slept longer than 6 hours at a time.

Yes, Michael, one day you will be able to go to bed any time you want to do so..

Only you will have to got to bed at 8pm to get up and go into work in the early AM.. Life works that way… :)

When you’re 8 years old, the only “person” in the whole world who understands you is your faithful teddy bear companion!

I find if I sleep more than 8 hours, I get a headache, and I’m more tired. If I get 7 to 8 hours, I’m just fine – and I’m MUCH better after 12pm, then I am before 9am.
