Don’t many wonderful Grandpa memories start with Grandpa saying, “Well, if you just…”

A little bacon grease on the lip rates right up there with “It’ll put hair on your chest, Son!” I loved Grandpa and would have bought whatever he said, no matter how many times he was pulling my leg.

I have a suspicion that Grandma was on to him as well. :-) But they set an example of loving and loyalty to each other that I still try to live up to with my wife.

Grandparents are great! He’ll be glad to have these memories later in life!

Beacause of Earl, Nelson is going to be a fantastic parent & grandfather someday.

Hey… builds character….

MY gramps told me when I was 9 that the small finger bowl of warm lemon water at LOVE’s family BBQ restaurant was lemon soup, a southern delicacy, at which I preceded to devour mine and my brother’s….. when I saw people at the next table using them to dip their greasy fingers into…. I thought they had really bad manners….. and loudly told them so, at which point my dad choked on a rib bone…… mom yelled at gramps, and waitress brought me another bowl of soup.

LOL! Gotta love Opal!

I only really knew one grandparent, my dad’s mom, sweet little old lady.

Another “EARL!” moment.
