On the phone, Gene exclaims, "So your mom tossed the rose! I'll get you another one!" Ruth happily says, "You're sweet, but it wouldn't be the same." Ruth informs him, "That was my first rose." Gene is buying a flower. The cashier hands Gene the flower and says, "Here you go, young man. One tulip!"
