Transcript:
Janis dreams that she, dressed in a long evening gown, is in the spotlight. Voice introduces her, "And now, the act you've all been waiting for.." Janis gets on the microphone and sings a screeching, "Tannngerine..." The men drool and whistle at her while the women are jealous and angry at their male dates' reaction toward her. Back to Janis's reality, Arlo tells her, "Penny for your thoughts!"

The women in the audience apparently are not happy to see their men behave as such. But the men are drooling for a taste of “citrus” as you referenced as if warding off scurvy!
