I hide my dirty socks behind the frig. The heat dries them and kills all the bugs at he same time.

I know there are art lovers who have their best collection well guarded in a “safe” room, but noone would hide a great painting this way, where they can’t even enjoy it themselves. Most of the paintings in my house are homages to my favorite impressionists painted my myself and with my cockatoo soulmate as the subject, but my LR is my main gallery and I also have a Vickary seascape (original oil) that my dad bought when I was very young (not hugely valuable but it is good to pass to kids as I have a Christmas photo I took of Mom, Dad and brother when he was about 8, where it hung in their LR). I also have a seriagraph of a painting I admired for many years in a gallery before finally buying an unframed one online (a large expendature for me). The one in gallery was framed in narrow black with no matte. I matted in a blue that set it off perfectly with a gorgous frame and that made it large enough to be the major piece in my LR all alone on a feature wall.
