verne: we're upside down! Why aren't we falling? RJ: Cartoon physics. RJ: Cartoon gravity is relative to the position of the cartoon ground. yahhhhh!! thunk! RJ: ...except when acted upon by the forces of comedy.
But if the ground was up and the sky down, what did Verne hit/stop on? Does that mean the cartoon universe is only one frame large. What’s on the outside?
I was participating in a mock medieval battle where, according to the rules of engagement, there was a bridge with no railing crossing a deep chasm (marked by chalk lines). My opponent leapt back to avoid an attack, landing off the bridge.
I gestured to indicate he should look down.He froze, then carefully bent down to feel around his feet without looking, followed by flailing wildly with a cry of "AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaa a a h h h thud.
The battle stopped for a few minutes due to giggling, laughter, cheers and applause.

A great lesson on the physics of c-space (that’s cartoon space)

Haha. F=mg©, g© = gravity orient relative to the cartoon’s comedic value.

Good thing this is a comic strip or poor Verne would have fallen/floated to Mars by now
