I knew people wouldn’t know Barry Allen is the greatest of all who wear the mantle of THE FLASH!

I don’t know the origin of the Golden Age Flash, but the origin of the Silver Age Flash. Barry Alen was a police forensic investigator, when lighting strikes his lab he is not only electrifyed, but chemicals are splashed all over him. (chemicals and lighting, good combo for making superheros) This “accidental” happenstance gives Berry Alen super speed..See also, “The Flash” on IMDb.commay be wikipedia as well..Hope I haven’t bored you..\\//_

Have so few people here heard of “Google” or any other search engine? Geeze.. type “Who is Barry Allen” into the search box and this wikipedia link comes up with the heading "The Flash (Bartholomew Henry “Barry” Allen) is a fictional character, a superhero in the DC Comics universe. He is the second character known as the Flash."

That explains it. I never read – never will read those superzero comic books.

With DC’s reboot, are they bringing Barry Allen back from the dead? His secret identity is less well known (i.e. a better-kept secret) than that of Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne, but he’s still more iconic than Wally West… After all, Hal Jordan isn’t the only Green Lantern or the latest Green Lantern, but he’s the one they chose for the movie.

I got a big laugh from it, Brian, precisely because it was so obscure. But there was the TV show, though come to think of it wasn’t that about twenty years ago? :)

I tried to post here this morning and in a FLASH my ability to comment was taken away from the rest of my comic queue. those are quite the special powers.

I didn’t comment today because I had NO IDEA who Barry Allen was/is. Thanks Marg for asking the question!

He loved both his jobs and was good at them. I miss him – and hope DC will let the poor guy RIP.

I do so enjoy this strip, and a Barry Allen Reference makes it all the sweeter .@Xane_tLove the JLU line.@fritzoidBarry Allen came back from the dead a few years back, and the DC Reboot is his doing (Well Professor Zoom’s actually, and I mean storyline wise, Flashpoint). Also Hal is the main Comic Green Lantern again (Although I felt the movie was kinda mixing him and Kyle some).So the list of Flashes is Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, Bart Allen, Wally West, Barry Allen. My Pref has always been Wally.
