Sounds like our old pool back in the early 60’s with silver fish, and we had to swim buck naked.

I used to climb the chain link fence and the three strands of concertina wire to swim in the old high school pool at night.Seventh and eighth grade were very good to me.

I just found out that this town has a swimming pool…for old rascals, too. Swim the English Channel, hm? that’s an interesting way to look at it…and it certainly gives one perspective…

Circa 1941: Used to swim in the Monongahela River Pittsburgh, PA) way before they stopped dumping raw sewage into the rivers.Wasn’t anything to swim into floating turds! We didn’t think anything about it, just enjoyed our swim. Would swim out to the coal barges going down river, and much to the chagrin of the barge workers, climb up the side, run down to front barge and dive off while the workers chased us. Talk about nuts!
