I hung My bazooka joe in my office. Very few people made comment. I so love to have fun.

Ahh, Bazooka Joe, back when you had a whole selection of penny candy to choose from and for less than a dollar you could get a bag full from the “general store”.

Bazooka Bubble Gum had a mascot named Bazooka Joe.The wrapper of the gum had a typically three or four panel cartoon and an add for the Bazooka Joe Club. You could get a Free membership for mailing in a large number of the comic wrappers (70 to 500, depending on what prize was being offered) or purchase a membership by mailing in 25 to 50 cents (in the 60’s) and 5 or 10 wrappers (again, depending on which marketing campaign was running).

You got a membership certificate (SUITABLE FOR FRAMING!), and a prize (badge, secret compartment ring with hidden rubber initial stamp, spyglass, etc.

I didn’t know Rover was gullible and….. oops, join a club and that’s the way many doctors get the certificate to hang on the wall. Good dog!

Bazooka Joe had a long career in the product promotion industry. As an adult he hawked Arrow shirts.
