The webmaster determines what size the strip runs. I draw it the same size I always have, to the same dimensions that Kyle drew it. But it doesn’t look much smaller on my screen than usual. Of course, if John happens to write a three panel gag, then each panel will have to be smaller to get it all in. Just remember to use the zoom!

There’s a mystery contradiction in the art today. And no, it’s nothing to do with Carolina’s shirt. Wonder if anyone can spot it?

The only thing I notice is Carolina’s shoes. But I put that off to only seeing the bottom in panel 2.

It’s panel 3: if you used the same background that is in panel one— why is the floor Sue and Carolina on so close to the ceiling…? ;-)

I think it’s that Carolina’s wearing jeans instead of a dress or skirt.

It does have to do with the background. But it’s subtle. It’s not Carolina’s outfit. I traditionally put her in jeans on the weekend. Just for a casual touch- make it different from the office.

I’m guessing the mystery is Dana’s seven appears to have the silhouette of a woman in it…. since her seven should be behind and to her left somewhat. But they all appear to be looking at Dana’s 9-10:00 – where Jay’s beefy, after-hours alter-ego seems to be just off camera…

Gee Man is closest. It’s the silhouettes in the background. It’s a background I designed for a strip a couple of years ago. Among the figures are Dana and Sue- in fact, Sue is right behind herself at the bar. The beefy one is Andrew. What I need to do is fix up a new nightclub background. If John writes many more gags in that setting, I suppose I will.

Can you imagine the outcome if they played Rock-Paper-Scissors?

Let me guess: the background from panel 1 is flipped horizontally (eg mirror) and blurred before it reappear on panel 3, right?

It’s out of focus on purpose. I was short on time and had to just tweak part of the background from panel one. So I blurred it to make it harder to distinguish. Deadlines make us cheat sometimes…
