Martin&Lewis: I can’t find it now, but Richard Avedon had all of his models, including celebrity portrait subjects, jump. There is a book of these called “Jumping”. Salvador Dali had three cats thrown from the right and three buckets of water thrown from the left.

Actually this is a representation of my kind of calisthenics.

As Gaijinrabbit knows, ‘Kai’ (海) is a lovely metacharacter, one of my favorites. Composed of water (水) “mizu”, person (人) “hito” and mother (母) “haha.”. If you strip off the water radical, you are left with (毎) “mai” which means “every”. This is intuitive because every person has a mother. The ocean, of course, is “every water.”

This is one of the reasons I love kanjis, and why I am frustrated that I don’t have more time to study both Japanese and Chinese.

I used to draw those pictures in first grade. Today, kids use IPADS to draw them.

I love languages too! Gaijinrabbit, you explain everything so nicely! I wish I could learn kanji from you….other than what you place in the comments here, of course. :)

Considering the average human has about 100,000 hairs on their head, it’s a good thing this was a cartoon character being drawn here. (It would take a LONG time to draw 100,000 hairs)

I recommend use of Stabald. Removes unsightly cranial hair.
