Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for July 14, 2009
Transcript:
Dad says, "I want you to sign this contract promising to read some books this summer." Nate says, "A contract? You're forcing me to read?" Nate says, "I don't want to read because you're making me read! I want to read for the sheer joy of it!" Dad says, "Uh-huh. And how often do you read for the sheer joy of it?" Nate says, "All the time!" Dad says, "...Not including comic books." Nate says, "Oh. Then never."

I like to read most books regardless of genre as long as they are interesting, though Big Nate is one of the best.

Honestly, Nate doesnt actually have to sign the contract. If he doesnt give consent, then its final, nate does not have to sign it. Marty also can not forge the signature because obviously thats unlawful. So in conclusion, Nate does not have to sign it if he doesnt want to.
