Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for November 23, 2011
Transcript:
Dad: First thing we'll do is clean of Grandma's dining room table. Grandma: Careful, there are several layers of Christmas ornaments on there. Alice: Mawa gah ha Gama! Grandma: Is she teething again? Mom: Alice, take those fangs out your mouth, please. Petey: There's some-thing melted on this pile. I don't want to touch it. Dad: It's just wax, or cake frosting, or, um....better not touch it.

Somehow this reminds of a care package Gram sent me in viet-nam.Chocolate pie packet in buttered popcorn to insure the pie was safe. What a mess. ( She sent many)

The rest of the house doesn’t look too jammed, maybe she can’t reach or can’t figure out where to put things any longer.

Nailed it here. Several “olderlies” of my acquaintance cover every horizontal surface with papers.

I just love Thanksgiving at Grandma’s house! LOL
Popeyesforearm about 13 years ago
Man, that looks like my Gramma’s kitchen. Scary stuff at Thanksgiving back in the 60’s. Jello with things inside. Carrot salad with raisins. Newspapers all over. But dang, I miss her.

I just ordered “Team Cul de Sac” by Chris Sparks. Easy Peasey, on Amazon. Yaaay all the contributors! I sent a copy to my daughter overseas too. It will arrive when published, next year. This is going to be a limited-edition collectors’ Item. The portrait of Petey, alone, by Bill Watterson, makes me drool. (You do too, Sergio!) Your order will fund research that we hope can help Richard Thompson and others afflicted by Parkinson’s Disease.

I keep too much on the dining table (just cleaned off some craft projects, blood pressure machine and a few catalogs) so it will be nice for tomorrow, even though I’ll be alone) I prefer to celebrate anything with all my favorite TV shows on TiVo, and family lives too far.

vidazzle, between you and the Otterloops, I’m inspired! I’ll make clearing the table a Thanksgiving gift to myself – I’ll make it nice. I’m on my own too. I am so grateful for this comic strip! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
