    Morning, Crustwoodians!

Ahhā€¦ our foursome is loading up on Trix, I see.

About as far from actual food as you can find in the cereal aisle.

Burl probably picks up Gas Station Coffee there for work.

Oh, wait ā€” Iā€™m sure the company is paying, so he might spring for Folgerā€™s.

Ooh ā€” the lady trying to get past them has a can of ā€œBug Offā€ in her basket. She must be soooo temptedā€¦.

BTW ā€” @Leaky ā€” I read an article not long ago about ā€œProfessorā€ Corey, saying heā€™s still working, at 97, and when heā€™s not, he goes out every day, on foot, and panhandles at a busy New York City intersection to raise money for a Cuban childrenā€™s charity. Amazing.

One of my favourite peeves is people block aisles at the market. You know theyā€™re there and they know youā€™re there, but they pretend not to notice. ā€œExcuse meā€ works sometimes but works better when you crash into their basket whilst pretending that you didnā€™t see it. They are first cousins to folks who turn into a parking lot and stop ten feet in, leaving you behind them with half your car sticking out into the roadway. (With Bubba Leroy and his F-350 diesel dualie flaming up behind you!)

BTW, Dale is wearing his ā€œWind Breakerā€ jacket. They should be blocking the cheese aisle,

    Good morning all.

Folks all she wants is for you to stop yapping for a moment and get your fat carcasses out of the way so she can move on down the aisle.

Leaky, I think Iā€™ll be watching that one from the comfort of my home. Not that Iā€™d be able to take the time off to see the game in person anyway.

I think the remodeled Publix stores have narrowed their aisles a bit. A stockboy had left a cart in one of the aisles, and we were looking for a hard-to-find item, and a lady with a couple of kids came to the same spot. I pushed our cart and the stocking cart back and forth to keep a clear path as people paused, browsed, and moved on. It took three traffic cops to get us out of there.

@Leaky: God must love Louisiana. All their enemies self-destruct. Alabama, Georgia, the Lionsā€¦ The rematch (will that happen?) should be amusing. Iā€™m bettinā€™ on the Tigers and the Saints from now on. If I were a betting man, that is.

is what iā€™ve heard true, that the only way the Saints get a perfect season is when all the other teams they play lose their games (sorta like Dallas does in the second half)? ;D

Hi fellow Crustwoodians! If you missed me yesterday, I tried to post here, but it never showed up. Oh well. Letā€™s see how today goes.

I have seen the blockers myself. soemtimes people donā€™t even acknowledge you. I did find one way to get around a store. Carry a cane. Here is what happened:

I have mentioned before that seven years ago I had surgery and some time in convalescence. After a month I was better and getting around. I was going to go to Krogerā€™s with my daughter. When I went to leave, my wife insisted I take my cane. I tried to protest, but she insisted that the doctor said I was suppose to either use a cane or walker. Reluctantly, I took it along, most of the time carrying it rather than using it.

When we got to the store, I noticed every time I walked into an aisle, people would move out of the way without me having to say anything, I didnā€™t even have to clear my throat. I think some moved out of respect of me not being able to gert around so well. I also think some left so i wouldnā€™t ask them to help me get an item on the shelf.

I asked an employee for an item that I couldnā€™t find. She directed me to the other side of the store. The store was crowded. However when I made my way across the store, the people parted as I aproached them. I felt like Moses crossing the Red Sea. When I turned back to say something to my daughter, she and her husband were still way behind me, stuck in the Red Sea of people. They had been walking with me.

I have never carried a cane in the store since then, but I have often been tempted. You know the saying, ā€œSpeak softly and carry a big cane!ā€

If you enjoy my ancedotes, I left another one on the Nancy page. See you everybody!

Now that I do my shopping in healthy foods(Sprouts), I tend generally to find others who are as courteous as I and we all try to share and inform others as much as we can.

It is less $$ for me because I want fresh foods, but Pennys and their ilk probably do not shop there.
