Just how out of touch is she? The only things we saw in that topsider outpost were mutts, and she already killed those. But that doesnât explain Linda and the son she thinks is still there.
Let it out, Blackie! Câmon⊠Hit the punching bag! Hit the punching bag! Give it hell! Work out those frustrations! You know youâll feel better for it! ; )Seriously, though, sheâs lost her rationality and is not making logical sense. We know that. She knows that. Itâs just that sheâs not in a fit state to be in charge of a weapon of mass destruction. Ask her politely to hand over the keys.Strangely, many times over, she has been steely-cold with a zap gun in her hand, pulling the triger and atomising someone who is begging and pleading to her face. So I donât doubt her nerve to take a life. Now, sheâs in the position sheâs long waited for, to wipe out a city by remote control, with the press of a button. Sounds easy. Will she do it?Interesting thought, by the way. Flask has a Topsider gun, and we know from the Al and Gustine story that these are âintelligentâ, i.e. have a brain in them. Could Wally shoot her gun with his gun? In the same way that he shot the mutts?
Grim Blackieâs not joking The sentimentâs choking And Linda lies watching, aghast (And also âagagâ But that loose-hanging rag⊠Is she working her way Free at Last?) The path Blackie chose is The fruit of neurosis Sheâs injured and damaged inside Can the Flask that we know be a Stark xenophobia Victim whose conscience has died? Sheâs quick to discuss That theyâre just ânot like usâ But in fact they are rather like her They have hatred she shares Viciousness that compares And we wonder: Just what did occur? The Topsiders âhave no respect for life,â so sheâs going to teach them all a lesson by⊠callously killing all of them. Hm, actually, Flask is right, when you consider what she used to be: Topsiders have no respect for life, her included!
Minus the vintage 1930s rants, Blackie has a LOT in common with Jacob Jackrabbitâs brand of crazy. This is really a bit frightening in a way. Weâve gone from vintage Nazi propaganda to modern day (âItâs ok to kill Muslims, theyâre not like us and they donât respect human life!â).
It looks like Linda is seeing the end game of her own xenophobia â now itâs too late ( or almost so) she is desprately trying to enter the conversation. But alas, with a moments reflection, she would realize how pointless begging for mercy would be at this point. Blind hatred cannot be reasoned with â at least not within 4 minutes.
The reason this story line is so compelling, is that it has implications in modern human affairs. â Hence the high emotions.
Wally was supposed to insert the chip. Holly did it.. We can only hope that she put it in the wrong slot. DID SHE??My dear Aaron why are you doing this to us??
Regarding Flaskâs behavior, Iâve got to ask this one question. Why exactly is she angry? Assuming that sheâs a former Topsider, she should still have some affinity for Topsider indoctrination, and some disdain for mutants of any kind (giving way to self-loathing). So, what exactly did her fellow Topsiders do to her and Petey? It must have been pretty horrific. Regarding her knowledge of the suit failure mechanism, weâve been assuming that it was her suit that failed. If we want irony, then just as Linda wants to protect her child from Flask, maybe Petey is Flaskâs child. And, maybe what happened is that some Topsider(s) did something stupid to result in Peteyâs mutating. When Flask tried to intervene, she was kicked out of the colony to die on her own. Flaskâs current behavior points to something pretty bad on the part of her own peopleâŠ

Father, husband, son, fiancée, someone she was close to.

Out voted but not out gunned, at least as long as she has the rocket.
But if the rocket was destroyed, then all would be well.

The big lie we tell ourselves ⊠They are not like us !!!

it almost make sense they are at war and in the rhino woman and her boyfriend arc the topsiders tried to do the same to endtown
and is rare to see flask showing any other emotion besides angerâŠâŠcant wait for that flashback
but i hope nobody in the group dies when this arc ends(used to someone dying after a flasback is shown)

If Flask had kept her mouth shut she could have pulled off her plan with no problem. But we wouldnât have the story then.
